Meet the Presenter:
Nicole Gislason
Executive Director, UWF Haas Center
Nicole Gislason serves as Executive Director of the UWF Haas Center, where she supports communities and businesses with economic data and research. The Center’s information products are designed to inform public policy and strengthen the region’s competitiveness.
Nicole has been the principal investigator on numerous UWF research projects. The Center’s most recent federal award includes a grant from the National Science Foundation focused on strengthening effective university–industry partnerships through the establishment of an Office of Industrial Innovation. Her previous work included a competitive award from the U.S. Economic Development Administration that designated UWF as an EDA University Center.
Nicole serves as the Vice President (and future president) of the national Association for University Business and Economic Research. She is the immediate past Chair of Florida’s Great Northwest and a Trustee with the Florida Chamber Foundation. Gislason also serves on the board of the Central Gulf Industrial Alliance.
She leads a talented team of professionals and UWF students who work to further the economic progress of the region from their headquarters inside Florida’s oldest schoolhouse in historic downtown Pensacola.
